FOR PARENTS
What we do with your family's data
This is a product with children's photographs and grandparents' voices in it. You are right to want the answer before you sign up, so here it is without the legal voice.
Children do not get accounts
Only adults sign in. A child exists in the app as a profile you made: a name, an age, what they are into. There is no login for them, no password, no email address, and nothing that follows them anywhere. Under European law a child cannot meaningfully consent to any of this, so the simplest answer is not to ask them to.
There are no passwords at all
You sign in with a link sent to your email, or with Google. We never see, store or reset a password, which means there is not one to leak.
Photographs are used and then deleted
Photos you upload for a memory book are used to write it and to draw it, and then removed once the book is finished. Keeping them is a checkbox that is off unless you switch it on. They are never used to train any model, ours or anybody else's.
Real photos never appear in a book
Every page of a memory book is drawn. The photograph is the reference the illustration was made from, and it is not what your child ends up holding.
A cloned voice needs its owner's word
Recording a family voice captures who it belongs to and that they agreed, and stores that alongside the voice. Deleting it removes it from us, from the company that hosts it, and from anywhere it had been set as a default narrator. A voice is never shared between families, even when the same person belongs to both, because the permission was given to one household.
Nothing becomes public unless you publish it
Your library is yours. If you do choose to publish a story to the public library, your child's real name is replaced with one you pick, the real one never leaves our server, and you can take the book down at any time. Memory books cannot be published at all, and neither can a saved family member, because those are photographs and voices of real people.
No ads, no trackers, no cookies
There is no advertising in the app and there never will be, because the way you make money from children's attention is the problem, not the solution. This website sets no cookies and carries no third-party scripts, which is why you were not asked to click a consent banner on the way in. Inside the app we count which features get used, on our own servers, with no free-text field that could carry a child's name or a story into it.
Hosted in Europe
The app, the database, the file storage and the email all sit in the European Union. The models that write and draw are run by companies outside it, which is why nothing identifying is sent to them: they receive descriptions and instructions, never your account, and photographs only for the moments you asked to be drawn.
Leaving is one button
Download everything you have made as a zip, or delete your family and everything in it. Both are in Settings, and neither requires you to write to anybody.
What we are still working on
We would rather list this than let you find it. Infinight is in beta. A full children's privacy review with lawyers is booked before we take any money, the public library has no reporting tool yet, and the agreements with the model providers are being papered properly rather than assumed. If any of that matters to your decision, write to us and ask where it stands.
Tonight's story could have her name in it
It takes about ten minutes to make the first one, and you keep it whether or not you ever pay us a cent.
No card, no password. One book to keep, whatever you decide after.
