What counts as an edit
Retelling a book for a different age or a different language, and redrawing a whole book, count as edits. Fixing the words on a page is free, because they are your words and they cost us nothing. Redoing a single picture is free within reason.
Is there a free plan when the beta ends?
Yes. The intention is that you can always make a book and keep it. The exact shape of the free tier is one of the things the beta is for.
What happens to my books if I stop paying?
You keep them. Reading, downloading and sharing what you have already made are never behind the payment, only making new ones is.
Will you charge me by surprise?
No. There is no card on file, so there is nothing to charge. When payments arrive you will be asked, in plain words, before anything happens.
Why is there a limit on books at all?
Writing and illustrating one book costs us a couple of euros in real money to the companies whose models do the drawing. The limits are roughly where that stops being sustainable, not a lever to push you upward.
